The Ministry for Education and Employment invites applications from young people to follow a two- year International Baccalaureate Diploma course at an international United World College abroad. Applicants who will have completed their secondary education or their first/second year at a post- secondary institution by June 2019 are eligible to apply (students should be 16 to 18 years by August 2019). They must have received their education in Malta for at least three years. A good knowledge of English and Maltese will be considered a strong asset.
The following are the available scholarships:
1) Up-to fully funded (needs-based) scholarship is available at the UWC Pearson College in Canada. Tuition, board and lodging are included in the offer but travel, insurance and personal expenses are not. The chosen applicant will be required to fill in a means testing form and submit copies of his/her parents/legal guardians’ FS3 forms of the last three years.
2) Partially funded (needs-based) scholarship is available at the UWC Changshuin China – scholar is expected to cover at least Euro 8700 per year towards tuition fees.

The United World Colleges prepare students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma which is recognized by the University of Malta. Higher subjects studied for the said Diploma are equivalent to Advanced Level and Subsidiary subjects are equivalent to Intermediate Level.
Applicants will be called for a group activity in the beginning of January 2019 and an interview in mid-January 2019.
