The Department of Medical Physics of the Faculty of Health Sciences is launching a new INTER-FACULTY DEGREE BSc(Hons) in PHYSICS, MEDICAL PHYSICS AND RADIATION PROTECTION. The new degree is a taught programme in Physics and its most attractive applications in society at present – Medical Physics and Radiation Protection. The course is future looking and very multidisciplinary and includes not only physics, mathematics, medical physics and radiation protection but also essential anatomy, physiology, ICT, ethics, management and legal issues. The degree opens the door to careers in all areas of Physics and also as hospital Medical Physicist (Medical Physicist is a warranted health care profession and Medical Physicists at Expert level are a legal requirement of EU Directive 2013/59/EURATOM) and Radiation Protection Expert (also a legal requirement of EU Directive 2013/59/EURATOM) and medical research, medical device industry, university career, medical device sales, physics education.
General Entry Requirements together with:
EITHER: (i) a pass at Advanced Level at Grade C or better in Physics together with a pass at Intermediate Level at Grade C or better in Pure Mathematics.
OR (ii) a pass at Advanced Level at Grade C or better in Pure Mathematics together with a pass at Intermediate Level at Grade C or better in Physics
