Every year on the 27th March UNESCO celebrates World Theatre Day. 11 years ago this date  GCHSS Drama troupe started out as an Enrichment course on an extra-curricular basis  aimed to celebrate Drama Day in Malta on a date as close as possible as the UNESCO pre-established date. Ever since, at the Giovanni Curmi Higher in Naxxar, about 300 students started becoming deeply involved in drama activities on semi professional  lines.

This year’s repertoire which was presented to the students on the 26th February 2016, consisted of works by some of the most prominent playwrights such as Bertold Brecht, Harold Pinter, Christopher Marlowe, William Shakespeare, Francis Ebejer and Joe Friggieri. The scenes presented during Drama Day, then become the main target for a Theatre Critique essay for Theatre and Performance students.
