GCHSS Higher Youths students were invited to Sharklab on Sunday 9th February to spend their morning working alongside Shark experts. The students got to observe and dissect a shark specimen (7 gilled shark) which is rarely caught, as this lives at a depth of 600-700m in the sea. Participants also worked carefully on the rare Bull-Ray species and a Long-Nose Spurdog. Apart from dissecting and preparing specimen for further research, the students also learnt that the Maltese population consumes 1000 tons of shark a year. A donation was presented to Sharklab NGO.
