GCHSS Student earns a place to attend the International Linguistics Olympiad in Taiwan!
For the third consecutive year, GCHSS participated in the Malta edition of the Linguistics Olympiad organised by the Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology at the University of Malta.
The competition was held in 2 rounds. Two of our students, Raine Borg and Keiron Paul Abela, took part in Round 1 as a team. This event was held on the 31st of January. Raine also took part in Round 2 in the individual competition which was held on the 3rd of April.
Raine performed extremely well and placed 4th overall in the competition and thus will be joining 3 other students from other colleges to represent Malta in the International competition which will be held in Taiwan in July.
The award ceremony was held on the 29th of May at the UM.
Our students were prepared for the competition by Mr Ayrton Brincat (a former student) as well as by Ms Lara Sammut and Ms Joann Bondin. Sessions were also held at the UM Campus Hub.
