Following the successful participation during last year’s ISF World Cross Country Schools’
Championships in Paris, the Ministry for Education and Employment (MEDE) and the Malta School Sports Federation (MSSF) are pleased to announce that applications are now open for students wishing to represent Malta at the upcoming ISF World Athletics Schools’ Championships.

This event will be held in Split, Croatia. The team will travel between 13th and 19th May 2019. This competition is open to male and female students aged 15-18 on December 2019 (born 2001-2004). The team will consist of a maximum of 6 males and 6 females. Each athlete is allowed to compete in two events plus the relay as follows:
• 1 run and 1 jump
• 1 run and 1 throw
• 1 jump and 1 throw

Only three athletes can be entered in the same event. The athletes will be chosen according to the new scoring table set by the ISF Athletics Technical Commission (http://www.isfsports.org/athletics). This is a team event therefore the best combination of athletes for team Malta will be selected. Only competitions organized by MAAA or a national athletics federation under the IAAF rules will be recognized.

All travel, accommodation and participation costs will be fully covered by MEDE.
A meeting for all interested athletes, parents/guardians and coaches will be held on Thursday 31stJanuary at 1800hrs at the MEDE Centre for Physical Education and Sport, Triq Guze Abela Scolaro, Ħamrun.
